“We Can Rightfully Be Called a Multi-GDS Consolidator. Next Destination: NDC”
RH Travel Team Discusses the Connection Between Ticket Sales Surges and Partnerships with Airfare Content Providers
“Every year, we witness a significant uptick in airline ticket sales during the summer months, and this year has been no exception,” says Olga Voloshina, Team Manager of RH Travel in Europe. “After analyzing the performance of our agents over the past two months, we found that our ticket sales increased by 123% in June compared to May, and by July, that growth reached 150%. We expect August to be even more successful for us all.”
Commenting on these statistics, Igor Kopmar, CEO and Founder of RH Travel, Inc., notes, “Undoubtedly, these optimistic figures are largely driven by the seasonal surge in travel demand. However, an equally crucial factor is our ability as a global airfare consolidator to effectively meet this increased demand.” According to Mr. Kopmar, this means offering their clients a vast selection of airline tickets at competitive prices to destinations worldwide in the shortest possible time.
This capability is ensured by RH Travel’s collaboration with the world’s leading Global Distribution Systems (GDS). “We can rightfully be called a multi-GDS consolidator, as RH Travel simultaneously works with Amadeus, Travelport, and Sabre,” says Igor Kopmar. “Thanks to access to travel content from different GDSs, we offer our B2B clients—agents and agencies—a broader range of services and options, as each GDS may have its own unique products and connectivity with various airlines.”
Travel industry experts assert that utilizing multiple GDSs allows agencies to optimize the booking process, compare prices and conditions in real-time, and access exclusive fares and special offers from various suppliers. This enables such agencies to offer more competitive terms and flexibility in customer service, making them attractive to a wide range of travelers, especially in the corporate sector. However, working with multiple GDSs requires significant technical expertise.
“Technically, interacting with the leading GDSs is a task we've already successfully addressed,” says Andrey Gogu, RH Travel’s CTO. “Our next challenge is the implementation of NDC. Thanks to the New Distribution Capability standard, our clients will gain direct access to more diverse airline content, including special offers, dynamic pricing, and personalized services.” According to Andrey Gogu, RH Travel, in collaboration with several airlines, has already begun preparatory work for implementing the NDC standard.
